CERTIFICATION

When purchasing a life jacket approved by the Brazilian Navy, require the presentation of the certificate and its accessories (Lamp
and reflective tape). - The approval has a validity period of 5 years.
See the website of the Navy, DPC, approved materials www.dpc.mar.mil.br

The lifejackets ATIVA 5 and ATIVA 4 were tested, approved and certified by the Brazilian Navy by the Board of Ports and Coasts,
as "NORMAN 05/2000". Passed through scientific tests in real situations of danger (of fabric traction, fire, buoyancy,
mechanics resistance of the vest, jumping performance at 10 meters high, etc). These tests were "in situ" overseen by an marine
engineer official of Brazilian Navy and implemented by institutions of public recognition such as:
• IPT (Institute for Technological Research at the University of São Paulo)
• Francisco Matarazzo School of Education and Technology for Textile Industry (National Service Industry)
• Port Authority of Santa Catarina (Brazilian Navy)

Description of tests applied on 6 samples (6 jackets):

Test characteristics of the prototype -
The evaluation of the prototype of the vest made by naval engineers of IPT and the Navy.
- Features approved for use.

Test Buoyancy

Immersion in water for 24 hours to detect the loss of buoyancy in this period. There was no loss of buoyancy.

Test mechanics resistance of jackets

the children's jackets, medium and large were tractioned in a horizontal position for more than an hour with up to 320 kg and hung on
cross position with 90 kg for more than 30 minutes. There were no damage or deformation.

Traction tests applied on tissues used for the manufacture of lifejackets
Developed by the Senai School Francisco Matarazzo and supervised by IPT. Ten samples of four kinds of tissues were tractioned after submerged in salt water. Tissues resisted the equivalent of a traction of the approximately 150Kg and the puller tapes (closing) resisted 500 kg

Testing the performance of jackets
Six people wearing each size of life vests, (including infant up to 35 kg) jumped six times into water from a base, 10 meters high.
This test was conducted in collaboration with the Olympic Diving Team from "Club Pinheiros" at São Paulo and supervised "in loco" by officers of the Brazilian Navy. There was no occurrence of failures in life jackets and discomfort to athletes.
The vest were easily dressed in less than 30 seconds.

Test performance on fire
The vest is subjected to a flame of 50 cm in height, whose fuel is pure gasoline, simulating a situation where the user had
to pass through the fire for 2 seconds. The damage did not alter the buoyancy of the vest within 24 hours after.
(test required to collect the Class IV).
